Come and Explore Jamaica
Home of Community Tourism

Jamaica is a magical, fascinating, mountainous and beautiful island, basking in the Caribbean Sun, that we Jamaicans love and many visitors fall in love with at first sight.

You too, can come and explore the "Home of Community Tourism", and enjoy our village communities, our white sandy beaches, our blue skies, our music, our culture and our heritage.

Let us make this your dream Caribbean holiday destination.

Our island is the best of the Carribbean Islands. (Yes, I am prejudiced).

What is Community Tourism?

Quite simply, Community Tourism involves offering visitors to our island the opportunity to explore and experience the history and the natural beauty of our small towns, villages and communities, in a manner that is safe, sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Our island offers a rich history, and numerous natural attractions for those who want more than an All-Inclusive Resort and a beach.

Countrystyle Community Experience Tours and Sun Venture Tours are two of the foremost companies promoting Community Tourism, and offering visitors a real taste of our island.

Villages as Tourism Businesses

Another side to Community Tourism involves the introducion of tourism to selected villages and communities such as Beeston Spring Village a few miles from Sandals Whitehouse in Westmoreland ... the training of villagers in tourism etiquette ... how to welcome and entertain visitors ... and setting these communities up as natural tourist destinations.

The Countrystyle Community Tourism Network runs this "Villages as Businesses" program.

Jamaica-No-Problem.com ...

has grown out of my desire to introduce all aspects of our island's life to the many visitors who never see anything of this beautiful island when they visit.
  • Our communities, villages, and small towns that I grew up and worked in for most of my working life
  • Our very special people
  • The many natural attractions throughout our island
  • Our best beaches
  • Our golf courses
  • Things to do and places to see
  • Our foods, cuisine, and recipes
  • Our music
  • Our culture and history
  • Our real estate
  • Hotels, and other places to stay

For this reason it is a natural fit with, and I am happy to support, any other organization engaged in preserving our environment, and promoting the development of sustainable Community Tourism in our island.

What About Our All-Inclusives?

All-inclusives were born when Abe Issa converted his then world renowned Tower Isle Hotel into the first Couples All Inclusive Resort in Jamaica in 1978. Abe's son Lee, and family, now operate 4 all-inclusive resorts on the island.

Businessman, Gordon "Butch" Stewart, started his chain of Sandals All Inclusive Resorts shortly after, and today has resorts in several other islands as well.

Both these organizations, and others such as the Rockhouse Hotel in Negril, the Palmyra Resort in Rose Hall Montego Bay, and New York tycoon James Goren, are active in helping and supporting communities in Jamaica through their organizations.

Butch Stewart also works closely with Diana McIntyre-Pike in supporting her Countrystyle Community Tourism Tours and Villages as Businesses program.

Butch (in black), who runs 20 all-inclusive resorts in his Sandals Group, still manages to find the time to accompany Diana on a visit to Resource Village in Manchester, the home of the annual Marcus Garvey Fair held every February.

This is My Island in the Sun

The great Harry Belafonte, one of the most talented artists of all times, was born in Brooklyn.

But his mother was from St Ann, his father from St Elizabeth, and he spent his early childhood in Abukkah, in the hills of South St Ann.

He later moved to Kingston, where he lived until he moved back to the US.

Enjoy these three great men - Harry Belafonte, Andrew Young, and Hugh Masekela - reminiscing about Jamaica in this short video.
