Jamaica Is Not So Bad

Crime is all over the world. And crime in Jamaica is nothing compared to several parts of the world.
However, because Jamaica is so small, it is broadcast as though it is infested with crime.
Furthermore, I am in the tourism industry and not one of my many guests have been a victim or exposed to any violence.
I have lived here all my life and I have never witnessed a crime on a local, not to mention on a tourist.
You can have fun, you can vacate, you can be in Jamaica without being a victim. There are cons and pros but, being a tourist in Jamaica does not mean you are the bait on the hook.
A tourist will never be a victim without it being broadcast.
How many Tourists have been a victim in Jamaica?
Get advised and you will be all right!

I love Jamica
by: gail

I love Jamaica, I love the food, the people are kind, I am always treated with the most respect every time I go.
This time I had the opportunity to go and stay in the villages and experience the "Real Jamaica" and it was the BEST time I have ever had on a vacation.
I was treated like family and still communicate with lot of people I meet. I just returned in June 27, 2017 and will be going back August 31, 2017 to help do some work on a farm of some friends I meet.
Honestly I am more afraid walking some streets in the USA, a whole lot more than in Jamaica. We met friends that took us riding on motor cycles several times during our stay of 14 women and NO ONE had any problems just a very fun peaceful time.
However I don't think Jamaica is for all people. I feel uncomfortable being a minority in the USA so I can under stand some people feeling uncomfortable in Jamaica. But I have always felt safe in Jamaica.

Jamaica not so bad!
by: G. Yvonne Graham

Yes, admittedly there its crime in Jamaica. However, I live in South Florida and every day the lead news story is about a local shooting or stabbing! SO ITS EVERYWHERE!
In October I went on a 3 generation Caribbean cruise, Spent several hours in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. So happy to see once again the turquoise beauty of my Caribbean and that magnificent waterfall! And to be among my fellow Jamaicans, so kind, courteous!

Safety in Ja
by: Carleen Smith

Whenever I have spoken about visiting the beautiful island of Jamaica, the first words out of so many peoples mouths is "Oh no, its not safe, there is so much crime there".
My answer to these negative people is ..."Jamaica is a small Island, so the crime rate does seem high, but if you were to spread the Island out to be as big as either Canada (where I am from) or the States, it would be the same.
I know there are a lot of positive things about Jamaica, but we seem to hear only the bad that comes from there.
I've been to various areas on the island, and as yet, have not experienced anything negative. Lucky, maybe, but bad things happen to people all over the world, not just in Ja, and there is so much good there, the people I've have had the pleasure to meet are wonderful, regardless of how much, or how little, they have. I know its not a bed of roses, but they do their very best to have a positive outlook on life. My heart belongs to Jamaica.
